Hello COPWDC Members:

The 2013 Water Trial will be held on August 3 and 4 at Chatfield State Park.

The training and water trial site (“Gravel Pond”) at Chatfield requires a Special Use Permit.  There is no charge for the permit and it is available to all COPWDC members.  Permits can be obtained by contacting Water Trial Secretary, Suzette Felthoven, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Please include your name, address, e-mail address, phone contacts (cell and home),  and call name(s) for your PWD(s) if you send e-mail.  The permit forms will be filled-in, a registration number assigned, and then sent back to you for signature.

As there are few water places in Colorado where you can do serious water training, the use of this permit is limited to committed PWD owners who are actively training for water trials.  We respectfully ask that you do not jeopardize our training and water trial resource by bringing your PWD to the training site without first obtaining a permit. Or bring any other PWD friends, who do not have a permit.

Please read your permit carefully as there are many other do’s & don’ts that help us to preserve this precious resource that we are fortunate enough to have.

The Messenger, the official newsletter of the COPWDC, is moving into the 21st century!

From now forward, The Messenger will appear in a new format on the www.COPWDC.org website! It will be more in“real time”, and will feature all the news and pictures you’ve come to expect!

You will still submit articles to me, Twyla Buzick, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (or snail mail, the address is in the Directory), I will edit them and forward them to our new Membership Chair/Board of Directors/Web Guru, Fred Forman (yay Fred!).

Then Fred will post them in “The Messenger” section of the website (it is listed on the main menu) as we receive them. Fred will periodically send out via e-mail a digest of the articles published.

We have published a starter few articles, which you can get to by clicking on The Messenger on the menu on the left).

Remember, we need pictures, pictures, pictures, as well as any article you have found interesting (and can get permission to republish), any book you’d like to review, brags, news of interest to PWD’ers, dog tributes, or even dog humor!

This is a wonderful step toward reducing our carbon footprint! Send me everything doggy!
